Dagala Thousand lake Treks

This trek leads to experience a view of different lakes where trout can also be found on the lake. The Dagala Mountain divides two valleys of Thimphu and Wangdue. While passing this trek, different species of tree and rhododendron flowers might be seen with the presence of must deer.

Day 1: Arrive at Paro
Upon arrival, our representatives will assist till hotel at Paro. Afternoon, visit Paro Ta Dzong, Rinpung Dzong, Drugyal Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang. Overnight in Paro.

Day 2: Hike to Taktshang
After breakfast, a hike towards Paro Taktshang which will take 3 hours to reach there. After lunch at the view point cafeteria, a drive to Thimphu. In the evening a sightseeing of Thimphu and visit Coronation Park and Buddha Point Statue. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3: Thimphu to Genekha

A drive from Thimphu to Genekha village which will take about 40 minutes. This is where the trek starts with the beautiful view of Genekha valley. It takes 4 hours to reach the campsite. Overnight at campsite near stream.

Day 4: Genekha to Gur

On these trek it gives a great exploration of nature with the presence of varieties of flora and fauna. A gradual uphill walk for two hours and towards arriving the top of the hill it gives the eye catching view of the valley. And then camp at Gur after two hours of walk.

Day 5: Gur to Labatamba

It takes 5 hours of walk till Labatama. On the way, it has the beautiful view of the rugged mountain vegetation. After arriving the first pass, it gives a sceneric view of Dagala range. Afternoon, a walk through meadows and hills which finally leads to a destination at Yutsho lake. Camp near Yutsho lake.

Day 6: Hold at Labatama

It is a place which consists of many lakes and Relitsho, Hentsho and Jamatsho are one of those three lakes which are good for visit. Each of this lake has a different story. This place would be a good time for trout fishing. Overnight in camp.

Day 7: Hold at Labatama

Discover Setsho lake which takes 15 minutes from campsite. And then after that a hike towards Jagetsho lake. Spend time in trout fishing. Return to camp after a tiring hike. Overnight at camp.

Day 8: Labatama  to Panka

The trail climbs upward and alongside the way, Dala tsho will be seen. After reaching, Jomigue pass which is 4460m, the pleasant view of Northern mountain ranges will be seen and their names will be explained by the trekking leader. Ascend down the hill for two hours to Panka. Overnight in camp.

Day 9: Panka to Talakha

This trail will take 5 hours. Many passes have to be crossed however this doesn’t require a major climb. On the way a beautiful view of blue poppy flower will be seen during summer. After lunch, a steady climb to top of the Dagala range which gives a beautiful view of Thimphu. Hold a camp just above the Talakha monastery.

Day 10: Talakha to Thimphu

Morning, a gradual downhill walk which will take two hours to arrive the road side. Vehicle will be waiting there. A drive to Thimphu. After lunch a sight-seeing of Thimphu town. Evening, drive to paro. Overnight at hotel in Paro.

Day 11: Departure from Paro.
